Empowering new industrial applications with multi-material 3D printing
A collaboration between additive manufacturing innovator Inkbit and Zeon Corporation seeks to revolutionize the production of complex, multi-material parts and empower new industrial applications using Inkbit's advanced 3D inkjet printing technology.
The relationship between Zeon Corporation and Inkbit began with an investment from Zeon Ventures in 2024. Inkbit initially captured Zeon Ventures' interest due to the company's pioneering Vision Controlled Jetting (VCJ) technology that enables the printing of diverse materials (including elastomers) within a single part. This capability facilitates the production of parts with varied properties and textures unlocking a number of potential applications across the mobility, industrial automation, and healthcare.
Following the investment by Zeon Ventures, specialists at Zeon Corporation began working with Inkbit to assess Zeon’s materials for Inkbit’s process. Through this early collaborative effort, both companies have recognized the significant potential for optimizing Zeon's materials for Inkbit's process to develop new applications and markets for both companies. Zeon and Inkbit now aim to deepen collaboration and engage with a broad set of potential customers to proactively identify new applications and accelerate the adoption of Inkbit's technology.
Davide Marini, Inkbit's co-founder and CEO explains: “Inkbit and Zeon are partnering to introduce advanced high-performance materials to additive manufacturing. At the technical level, this collaboration includes exploring liquid rubber toughening additives and sourcing safe, effective raw materials to enhance printing capabilities. At the commercial level, Zeon is offering the depth of its industry knowledge and network to identify the most compelling applications for our technology. It is an absolute pleasure to work with the Zeon team and we are extremely grateful for their support."
Going forward, Zeon, as an investor and strategic partner, is committed to supporting Inkbit to advance adoption of their unique additive manufacturing technology and contribute to more intelligent and sustainable parts manufacturing globally.
